Aoife O'Dwyer

Hi, I'm a multi-disciplinary digital artist working in a combination of bold human made digital illustrations in a strictly defined colour palette and an expansive body of multi-style AI referenced, assisted, created, and/or blended works.

Influenced by themes of perception, identity, reality, nature, mythology, nostalgia and sci-fi, my work is driven by a desire to imagine what lives in the gaps of human perception. I'm interested in how our sensory systems process information physiologically, psychologically as well as how language processing contributes to our sense of reality and culture. I often explore the subjective unknowable nature of reality and aim to subvert expectations by combining the familiar in unfamiliar ways. My work is both explicitly and implicitly created via queer and neurodivergent storytelling perspectives.

I often blend my 2D human made illustration work with various AI produced outputs from my expanded visual language to produce hybrid styles. This work considers how the bionic and biological might interface in realms beyond our perception or how the bioelectric might interpret our digital and onchain identities.

I want my work to build new worlds in realms adjacent but unaccessible to us, to appear whimsical and fun while providing an unexpected entry to deeper conversations and questions around perception, identity, consumption, interpretation and culture.
